Der Neue Kontinent im Medizinturm (2018)

Performance/Installation with Tong Mo (Peking), Taifun-Projekt Residenz Niederrhein, Mühlenturm Geldern(D)

Together with performance artist Klaus Boegel and musician Felix Erkelenz, Chinese author Tong Mo will present the results of her 2.5-month residency in Geldern on 9 July at 7 p.m. in the Mühlenturm.
Tong Mo is a writer from Beijing. She is one of a total of four Chinese residence artists who are currently participating in the residence programme "Residenz Niederrhein", which TAIFUN Project e.V. launched together with the city of Geldern and other cultural institutions on 30 April.
Tong Mo lives and works in Geldern for 2.5 months. As an outsider, her creative work began by observing and researching the people, culture and history of funds. The results, experiences and experiences she gained gradually found their way into a narrative she wrote during her residency: "The New Continent". Karin Betz, renowned sinologist and translator of Nobel Prize winner in literature Mo Yan, brings the captivating story of a blind old poet and a mute refugee girl without memories into German at the present time.
